First Ice

According to the book «Questions and answers about the Lake» by the scientist Grigoriy Galaziy: «Usually the lake Baikal starts to cover with ice from the 21th of  December and this process ends on the 16th of January, in total it takes one month.First of all start to cover with ice gulfs. It is important to note that period which was mentioned above every year can differ. Sometimes the lake covers with ice only in February, sometimes by the end of January. If it was happened late – braking the ice also starts late. Early covering with ice is dangerous because the ice is fragile and easy to brake. The North part of the lake covers with ice earlier and earlier brakes the ice later.
